I just started playing the sax about 2 months ago! I've been playing the clarinet for about 21 years so once I got through the different fingerings, it made everything else catch on real quickly. I have to say though the air control is quite different from a clarinet and my face definitely uses different muscles, more of the buccinator action.
With that said, I am happy to say that I am now a part of a reggae band, the Bremerton Dub Rockers. I used to be turned off by reggae because of the association with drugs and as super 8 says, "drugs are bad." I really don't care about what people do with drugs I just know that I'm not into it for myself and that's okay with me. But really I know now that reggae is more about positivity and unity. I can dig that. I can also dig the music, after opening up to reggae there is so much to it that isn't really appreciated by the general public. I had a great practice on Friday I felt like I broke through a wall in my playing. I finally am familiar enough to improvise well. I felt a bit jazzy at one point ;P! Would be fun to learn motown and jazz!!
Life is good with all this excitement, I am really looking forward to this experience and I hope to continue learning knew things.
Next up on the agenda! I am learning all of the following but I want to become expert at them!
*become proficient in zbrush
*become proficient with my ukulele
*work on my japanese , french, and sign language
