FIRST PAX and Greg Miller

My first PAX and I'm drawing on Greg miller's arm with a Sharpie! How do I get myself into these messes! Very fun time! I'm excited for the next PAX.

*At PAX 2011, IGN and 1UP held a meet and greet. There, editor Greg Miller ran into artist Rhodora Jacob and demanded she give him a Sharpie tattoo on the spot. This is what happened.

Photobucket

On the You tube version someone commented that Rhodora Jacob sounds like a Hollywood ready name. Awwww... golly gee willickers ;)!

Philanthro Aids Benefit

Embrace

The best thing you can do for someone is to be there for them in their time of need. Sometimes it is as simple as small embrace. The warmth of compassion can help give strength to those who feel alone and helpless.

The Connecting Factor

My inspiration for this piece was to show hope for the future. As terrible as things may seem at the core we are all made of the same cells. We are all connected in some way so we should open up to each other and allow life without isolation. We are all capable of being ill but we should not keep us from living life.

Had a great time for a great cause. I enjoy participating in silent auctions. These were made for the Philanthro Aids Benefit.

I submitted after the flyer was made so I am not on the flyer but that's not importante ;).
I hope to be a part of the next benefit. :)

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

I ventured off to The Neptune and found a gold mine of inspiration. I gotta say Joseph Gordon-Levitt wooed the crowd with a lift of his eyebrow. I am glad to have been a part of this event.

Video performance of Joesph Gordon-Levitt singing a song he wrote :)!

Sax a ma phone!

I just started playing the sax about 2 months ago! I've been playing the clarinet for about 21 years so once I got through the different fingerings, it made everything else catch on real quickly. I have to say though the air control is quite different from a clarinet and my face definitely uses different muscles, more of the buccinator action.

With that said, I am happy to say that I am now a part of a reggae band, the Bremerton Dub Rockers. I used to be turned off by reggae because of the association with drugs and as super 8 says, "drugs are bad." I really don't care about what people do with drugs I just know that I'm not into it for myself and that's okay with me. But really I know now that reggae is more about positivity and unity. I can dig that. I can also dig the music, after opening up to reggae there is so much to it that isn't really appreciated by the general public. I had a great practice on Friday I felt like I broke through a wall in my playing. I finally am familiar enough to improvise well. I felt a bit jazzy at one point ;P! Would be fun to learn motown and jazz!!

Life is good with all this excitement, I am really looking forward to this experience and I hope to continue learning knew things.

Next up on the agenda! I am learning all of the following but I want to become expert at them!
*become proficient in zbrush
*become proficient with my ukulele
*work on my japanese , french, and sign language

Commisions!

I've been doing a lot of commisions. I showed these at the Student Gallery show at the Art Institute of Seattle and at my portfolio review, I ended up selling them after the showing. I am currently working on another show with this same medium. The process is a bit hazardous, I've even burnt myself a few times ;P but it is real fun. I'm in love with doing these right now so expect more to come. Shows I am anticipating will be in July and August.

Superhero Self

I've been meaning to post this. I wanted to draw with a little of my flair but also put in Bryan Lee O'malley's influence. It's supposed to be me as Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim. heehee. Not really a superhero but she has a magic bag, a HAMMA! and she can go through subspaces!! come on! I think that's pretty darn SUPER!

I really want to color this so I will be doing that today and I also have a few other drawing's I've been meaning to post :P! I can't wait only 4 more weeks and no more school.... well until I get my masters ;)!

Portraits of the Irishes

Kyle Irish

Brian Irish

Lauren Irish

Kathryn Irish

Michael Irish

I like to do portraits of people close to me. I also used to do portraits for families and these portraits are of the Irish family. A family I still hold dear in my heart even though so much time has passed. There are just some people in your life that will be a part of it forever and this family will always be in mine :).

BUSY!!

Portfolio presentation and GE 400 invaded my life and conquered it for nearly 3 months! I'm predicting the weather of creation will be overwhelming as I soak it all up after my "last" quarter at AIS! I say that in quotations because I will be taking one class off campus and independent study, to learn ZBRUSH! next quarter. :)

So expect a blog fury of art coming atcha in the next few days :)!
